‘Where Do I Even Start?!’

Wedding planning can be one of the most exciting times of your life, but it can also be incredibly overwhelming. With so many details to consider and decisions to make, it's easy to feel like you're drowning in a sea of tasks and responsibilities.

But don't worry, there are steps you can take to help ease the stress and make the planning process more manageable. Here are some tips to help you get started:

  1. Make a list of priorities: Start by making a list of the most important elements of your wedding. Focus on what's truly important to you and your partner, and prioritize those items first. This will help you stay focused and keep the planning process from feeling too overwhelming. (see other blog post for more on this!)

  2. Create a ‘wedding email’ address. When you start enquiring with lots of different wedding vendors, the info/quotes/contracts can start to feel messy. Rather than having them spread over yours and your partners individual email inboxes, create a dedicated email address for your wedding communication so its all in the one place!.

  3. Delegate tasks: Don't be afraid to delegate tasks to your friends and family members. They'll likely be more than happy to help, and you'll be able to relieve some of the pressure from your own shoulders.

  4. Take breaks: Make sure to take breaks from wedding planning, both physically and mentally. Taking time to recharge will help you return to the planning process with fresh energy and a clearer mind.

  5. Seek support: Talk to your partner, friends, or family members about your feelings. They can provide you with much-needed support and a fresh perspective. Dont be afraid to ask your chosen vendors for recommendations for other vendors! ie. ask your celebrant (hello) for a recommendation for a photographer. They will always only recommend quality vendors as no one wants to be associated with someone that doesn’t provide a top notch service!

  6. Stay organized: Keep track of all your wedding planning details in a notebook or a wedding planning app. Having a central place to store all your information will help you stay organized and avoid feeling overwhelmed. Or better yet, engage with a wedding planning service so they can take all the stress off you!

  7. Remember the bigger picture: Remember that the planning process is just one part of your wedding journey, and it will all be worth it in the end. Keep the bigger picture in mind, and try not to get bogged down in the details.

Wedding planning can be an incredibly exciting and joyful experience, but it can also be incredibly overwhelming. By following these tips, you can ease the stress and make the planning process more manageable. So take a deep breath, grab a coffee/cosmopolitan , and get ready to plan the wedding of your dreams!
